Advent Day 1
I decided that as a bit of incentive to post more on this blog that I’d try and make a post each day of advent. Advent is a special time leading up to Christmas, and for Christians is a time to focus on the gift we all received and the reason why Christmas is still celebrated over 2000 years later. For everyone else its also a time of preparation, but usually for more mundane reasons – stocking up on food, buying presents etc. Not that I don’t do the latter (I have already purchased a Christmas present and eaten two mince pies) but as with most public holidays amongst the fun and stuff I enjoy there’s always something that irks me. So each day I intend to post a brief thought, as well as a nice photo (because its also a rather beautiful if cold time of year).
Unfortunately I’m actually ill today and really need to get to bed, so I’m using stuff from yesterday.
Today’s thought is a brief quote I came up with yesterday whilst in church and thinking on a discussion I’d had earlier in the week.
Religion should not require action, but it should inspire it.
This photo is from a walk with my mum yesterday in some woods near where we live (any of the Bury summer crew will recognise it as a frequent spot of expeditions during the holidays). It was very nice and Autumnal, and we clearly had a lot of ways to chose from.
