Pretty and Slanty
October30
Back on the photo wagon after this afternoon's techieness, here's another traditional sun and dark mountains photo, that has greater connotations because it was such a wonderful walk:
I took this one when I climbed up Lonscale fell in the Lake District at 4 in the morning. We had been camped by a large stream at the bottom and I wanted to get up a mountain before sunrise. When I reached the top the views were fantastic - cloud hanging in the Derwent valley and shortly after the mountain sides were painted red with the rising sun. Turning round the sun was just beginning to cut over the ridge of Blencathra and the other mountains around Skiddaw forest and that's when I took this.
