Football Robots

A football tournament played by teams of robots has kicked off in Germany.

Definately an interesting prospect and with less grunting sweaty men - though probably with more nerdy fat men - the Robot Football World Cup has begun in Germany. Their basic aim is to have a team which can compete with and beat the World Cup winners by 2050. Whilst it sounds like a long time in the future it sure will be interesting to see the advances, and it shows uses for robots in areas other than making cars for lazy parents to pick their fat kids up from school half a mile away. Sorry for the digression but I've just done a crappy General Studies A2 paper and am still fired up.

Back to the robots though and I just want to point out one quote from the article which should so be taken out of context.

the current world champions from Germany are a force to be reckoned with in the four-legged tournament.

So true...
